Who is Grey DeLisle?

She had a rough childhood. She was largely raised by her grandmother, Eva Flores Ruth, a vocalist who performed with salsa legend Tito Puente.

Grey was heavily into goth bands like The Cure, but her mother, who had become a born-again Pentecostal, set a strict rule of no secular music. In her late teens, she started singing old gospel tunes, and started in the world of stand-up comedy, on the advice of a close friend. In her comedy routine, DeLisle was able to imitate voices very well, and was then advised to take a shot at voice acting. Her first starring role came in the English version of Crayon Shin-chan, as the voice of characters Cosmo and Uma (which will begin airing on Adult Swim Monday through Thursday the week of August 21 and 28).

She didn't get another starring role until 1998, but she has since become one of America's most beloved and well-respected voice actresses. She has even learned how to speak Japanese thanks to fellow voice actors Janice Kawaye and Keone Young for her role as Yumi on Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi. Other voice acting roles have been in many computer and video games such as Escape from Monkey Island, Baldur's Gate and many Star Wars games. DeLisle has also released four music CDs, filled with goth-inspired folk and Americana tunes, with a few gospel-style songs as well.

In 2002, DeLisle married musician Murry Hammond, the bassist for the Old 97's, after a few months of a long-distance relationship. They were even featured in an episode of The Learning Channel program A Wedding Story.

Can I please join? There are so many favorites to choose from but the leading 4 would have to be Azula, Emily Elizabeth, Riley Daring and Buzz Winters according to IMdB (still impressed that Buzz was even HER! I watched the show even before I knew it was her and I can't pick off that character to this day).

cool, who knew I find an official fan club of the talented Grey Delisle, she rocks. So far, my recent fave role she did is Frida Suarez from El Tigre.

Hello. I understand you've various voices for many television shows. I even hear you used to be Reptar on "Rugrats". You are Vicky on "Fairly OddParents", Riley on "The Replacements", Sam on "Danny Phantom" and you are also Portia Gibbons from (my personal favorite show) "The Mighty B!". Her voice sounds a lot like that of Vicky and Sam. I didn't need to look at the credits! As soon as I heard that voice I knew it was you! I can honestly say, coming from a long time fan of your vocal talents, Portia is your best character yet, though, I do confess she is my LEAST favorite character, but that's why she is my favorite. In fact, she is one of the first cartoon characters that ever actually scared me, to the point of breaking into a sweat! In some cases, I could say that you do the voice a little TOO well, for such a crude character (partly, I was teased a lot growing up, so that does have a higher emotional impact) but that doesn't chance my opinion. It only makes it more realistic, and in tune with her character.

Creepy thing is, I can immitate her voice pretty damn well!

This...seem to be getting a bit long! I still have some questions, but I do realize you must havea busy scedule, and I should most likely stop flattering you! I'm just such a big fan of your works! I hope to hear more from you, literally!

Love, Wendi.

Here's a story!
Just twenty minutes ago, my twin brother and I were watching the Fairly Odd Parents, and Vicky was having some kind of rant. I wasn't really listening, but for a second I closed my eyes, and thought that Avatar: The Last Airbender was playing on the TV, and not The Fairly Odd Parents. I opened my eyes and saw Vicky ranting, and it popped into my head that Azula and Vicky had the same voice. I looked it up and sure enough, it was her!
I love all the characters Grey plays! Can I join?
